PostSubject: Users Guide~This Should Be One Of The First Things To Read As A New Member   Thu Mar 26, 2009 2:49 pm

1. The Basics
2. Friends & Foes
3. User-groups
4. The Chatbox and IRC.

In this guide, it will explain all the ins and outs of having an account at Random Discussions. (RD)

1. The Basics

As a new member at RD, there are certain rules you should follow. Some of which are listed in the rules, and some are just basic things you should always do. Also, please be nice to a fellow member. There are just here to have fun, too! If there is a debate that gets out of hand, the Mods and Admins will not step in. VIPs and other groups may feel free to step in, but it will not erase the argument completely. So please, be nice to your fellow member. Another thing we should all do is have correct spelling and punctuation. Itsnoteasyreadingasentancelikethis. So please, respect the rules and we will all get along.

2. Friends & Foes

In this forum, we are all friends. Members may feel free to join smaller friendships. To be a friend, the user must accept your request. When you become friends, it will be easier to communicate with that person. It will also be easier to get to each other's profile page. We are all friends here. We should not, at all, want to see any foes. We are all friends here so let's keep it that way!

3. User-groups

In RD, there are certain ranks. These are called user-groups. You may apply for any user-group that is open the the Applications section. Depending on how you can handle this group, you may join or you may not. Below is a list of the user-groups and there roles.

These people control the entire board. The look, it's feel, and almost everything else.

Global Moderators
These people have forum AND chatbox moderation rights.

These people have forum moderation rights.

Chatbox Mods
These people have chatbox moderation rights.

Graphic Designers
These people help with making cool graphics.

These people are very important people who you should respect.

Experienced Users
These people have been with us for a very long time.

4. The Chatbox and IRC

The Random Discussions Community Chatbox & IRC is where, if you just want to talk and don't want to post, is the place to be. The Chatbox Mods (in cyan) have moderating rights for the chatbox. This means they can ban, unban, clear, and much more. If you are not sure whether a person has moderation rights for the chatbox, just look and see if they have an "@" before their name. (i.e. @ Nowreally) The IRC is more complicated. IRC stands for Internet Related Chat. To get to the IRC. Go to the thread that says "Chatbox Here" and folllow the directions on the page. Remember, RD is a place to have fun, so let's take to the extreme!
